The Green RVer -
How can you be a green RVer? We have some suggestions.
Big or small - there are ways we can make life more eco-friendly and less wasteful. Here are a few suggestions, which some of you may already be doing (thank you!). Do you have worthy ideas? Please share them with us. . .
-
During nice weather open windows that are on opposite walls to bring in fresh air and to create cross-ventilation.
-
Postion the RV on the campsite so that the awning shades the south facing side of the RV. This will reduce solar heat gain within the RV.
-
Use cleaning products that are eco-friendly and pet-friendly. These emit fewer or even zero VOCs. It doesn't matter how good the indoor air quality is of the RV if it's ruined by toxic air fresheners or cleaning products.
-
Designate an area for items that can be recycled.
-
Use LED lights when possible. They last longer and use less energy. This may not be possible within the RV but how about for the outdoor living area?
-
Conserve water by turning off the faucet while brushing your teeth, and don't leave the water running while you are washing dishes.
-
Check out eco-friendly, formaldehyde-free holding tank treatments.
